Even at 12-years-old you can make a difference in the world and touch the lives of others. Using her own pageant award money, Khiana Provido, Miss Arizona Pre-Teen, buys the materials to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless in Arizona. First Food Bank reported, “nearly one in three children in Arizona struggle with hunger.” According to AZ Central, “homelessness in Maricopa County has risen nearly 60 percent in two years.” Hunger is an issue that Provido is passionate about changing in Arizona. Provido first understood hunger after hearing the details of her parent’s tough childhood in the Philippines. I created this slideshow to share that a little giving can go a long way.
